Keto Uttapam | Keto Adai | Keto Savory Pancakes | Eggless
If you are missing Uttapam, Adai or savory Pancakes then these Keto Uttapam recipe is a must try. Its easy to make, delicious and very low carb. Make it for breakfast, snack or as a meal. You can also add grated low carb vegetables like carrots, beans if your macros permit.
I have added Nutritional Yeast and Flax meal to increase the nutritional value of the recipe. Nutritional Yeast gives nice cheesy flavor and rich B vitamins. Flax meal gives fiber boost to the Uttapam.
Macros from (Onion, Almond flour, Nutritional yeast, Mozarella cheese, flax meal, ghee) – One serving – Makes 2 small Uttapams
Calories – 303
Net carbs – 4.65 gms
Protein – 13.95 gms
Fat – 22.5 gms

Keto Uttapam | Keto Adai | Keto Savory Pancakes | Eggless
- 3 tbsps Water (or as needed)
- 1 tsp Ghee (to grease (you can add more))
Ingredients for Mix
- 2 Green chili, finely chopped ((adjust to taste))
- 2 tbsps Onion (finely chopped)
- 2 tbsps Cilantro (finely chopped)
- 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
- few pinches Hing or Asafoetida ((optional) )
- 3 tbsps Almond flour
- 1 tbsp Golden Flax seed meal
- 1 tbsp Nutritional Yeast
- 3 tbsps Shredded Mozarella Cheese
- Salt (to taste)

Take all the ingredients under “Ingredients for Mix” in a bowl. Mix them well.

Now add water slowly, 1 tbsp at a time. Make it into thick paste. Refer to the below video.

Now you can make one big Uttapam or 2 small ones.

Spread the mix gently on to a greased non stick pan. There should be no breaks in the uttapam.

Cook it for 4 to 5 mins on low- med heat till it forms a nice crust.

Slightly lift the Uttapam to see if its cooked and formed crust on the bottom. If its cooked well, then gently slide the spatula under the Uttapam and flip it gently.

Cook well on the other side for couple of minutes.

Once cooked on both side, Remove and Serve Hot.!
In order to enjoy the freshness and flavor of canned chili, you will need to make your own. Although this can take a bit of work, I can assure you that the time you spend in making your own will pay off in the end when you have a perfect meal that’s as delicious as any canned product out there. The great thing about homemade canned food is that you can use whatever type of peppers you like.

Thanks for this recipe. I wanted to check if I don’t add yeast and cheese, will the uthapa hold the shape and not break?
Hi Noori, you can skip nutritional yeast but don’t skip cheese. Cheese binds the uttapam. But you can definitely experiment without cheese with a small Quantity and see how it turns out. Please let me know if you try it 😊
