Tea masala || Homemade Chai Masala

Tea masala || Homemade Chai Masala

Tea masala is a blend of several spices , this blend gives a great flavor and taste to the Tea (Chai or milk Tea). Usually when we make tea, we use freshly ground spices cardamom, cloves and ginger. But to make it convenient we can make a spice blend before hand and use it whenever needed.

Many Indian stores carry these spice blends but like always homemade is best and very flavorful. You can also customize the spices to your taste. If you are using this spice blend there is no need to use any other spices but I sometimes like to add some fresh ground ginger for extra kick.

The Spices in the tea are not only flavorful but also has so many health benefits. All these spices are good for digestion, anti inflammatory, good for skin etc.!

I already put an elaborated post on the spices used, combinations and how to make masala chai. Check out the post here – Homemade Masala Chai

For every one cup of tea just 1/2 tsp of the tea masala is enough. Add more for a strong tea. The recipe below approximately yielded 3/4th cup and it will last me at least 1 -2 months ( well actually it depends on how much tea you drink 😉 )

I recommend making this tea masala every month in small batches so that it is fresh, otherwise the aroma will be reduced as it ages in the jar.

If you try it then please don’t forget to give a rating for the recipe below in the summary box, it means a lot.!
