Tomato curry | Easy Basic Indian Tomato Curry
Tomato curry is the one dish that is a emergency side dish that can be made under 30 minutes and goes well with rice or roti.! It is also a awesome side dish for breakfast dishes like dosas. Tomato curry is also known as Tomato koora, thakkali curry, tomato gravy curry.
The tomatoes used in this recipe are home grown cherry tomatoes, but you can use any kind of tomatoes really. All the tomatoes in the photos are home grown 🙂
This curry is tangy, spicy and slight sweetness from tomatoes. You can make it thinner or thicker to suit your taste and needs. Also adjust the spices as per your taste, also don’t be afraid to experiment with the spices you add in.
You can make this Tomato curry with no onion no garlic, just add Hing also known as Asafoetida to add a ton of flavor that will kind of compensate the onion and garlic. You can also add coconut in form of fresh grated coconut or coconut milk to make it more delicious, which I will share in another blog post.
This is a no fail dish anyone can make it even with zero cooking skills, making it perfect for bachelors, college students and newly married couples. You can make it in big batch and store in fridge for upto 2-3 days or freeze it for future use.
